1 Nightstand Styled 3 Different Ways

So for the first time in my adult life, I have a real grown-up nightstand.  And with it comes the chance to style said nightstand. Dream come true!

To dress up a nightstand, there’s 3 things you need: a lamp, a piece of art (or family photo), and some greenery.

When arranging these objects, the goal is to vary the height.  Graduate things down from the height of the headboard to the smallest item on the table. As with styling any vignette, group items in odd numbers (see this post for more details).  The lamp can stand on its own on one side, while you create a group of three with some art, a floral arrangement, plus another other small object (candle, etc.).

I prefer lamps that are at least 28 inches tall.  Especially if you have a tall headboard. Here are some of my favorite affordable lamps.

Fresh flowers are ideal on a nightstand, but I have to go with the faux version. A certain “someone” in my house will poke her head in anything that might be holding water. Plenty of fresh flowers, over the years, have been victimized in the process. Good thing she’s cute!

The nightstand featured in these vignettes, is the one I just got from Wayfair. It’s traditional, but you can easily change it up with some more modern styling.

Here’s the same nightstand, styled in three different ways.

Look 1: Traditional

Look 2: Modern

What do ya think?! Which vignette is your fav?!

I made a fourth version for those of you who are short on space and need a smaller nightstand. Of course a smaller table means less space, so I ditched the lamp in favor of a plug-in sconce.

Don’t forget to leave some space on your nightside for necessities like your cell phone, a book that you’re reading, a water bottle (or carafe), and maybe some hand/foot creme.  You know, in case you don’t like rough heels scratching the sheets. Not that I would know anything about that.

Typically I coralle the extra items in a little tray.  If you’ve just got some small things to manage, like a watch or some jewelry, here are some cute little catchalls from Etsy.

I bet it’s high time your nightstand got a makeover, so why not give it a shot! It will get you one step closer to a home you love.

That’s all for this week friends! I’ll be back next week with August’s Artist of The Month! Meanwhile come hang with me on Instagram!

Wishing you a beautiful and healthy week ahead!
