Artist Spotlight: Lisa Bloomfield

I found Lisa Bloomfield’s paintings while searching for a still life for my kitchen. And you know how the story goes…cut to me saving half of her collection in my favorites. I’m now an official stalker. I love the color palettes and the geometric abstract forms in Lisa’s work. If I weren't thigh deep in kitchen reno costs I would snatch up one of her paintings in a heartbeat.

Lisa’s work can be purchased through one of my favorite art sites: Saatchi. She’s got a gorgeous collection of originals, a few of which can be purchased in a more affordable print version. Just look for the print tab…

As usual, it’s hard to choose just a few favorites, but I’ll do my best to not overwhelm you.
Here’s my top picks from Lisa’s beautiful collection…

Aren’t those soft golden yellows just so pretty?!

Here’s some background info on Lisa from her bio on Saatchi…

“Painting has been something I've done in the background for the past 25 years and now I find myself primarily working with this medium.

Starting with a blank canvas is startlingly different from my approach to creating image/text narratives. Whatever one does with a photographic image, there is a grounding to it and one can build on this representation. I always had an inkling of the style and content I wanted to produce.

It is a different challenge with abstract painting to arrive at something which satisfies my visual goals, personal rules and aesthetics -- as unspoken as they may (initially) be. I find myself working through unfamiliar territory ending up with both successes and failures. My abstractions do tend to touch base with landscape, architecture, still life and the idea of home.”

Lisa’s paintings are a perfect fit for any room that’s in desperate need of some life. Just one, well placed, piece can make the whole room. And don’t feel that the colors need to match the rest of what’s happening in your space, you can allow the art to speak for itself.

Here’s a few more gems for your viewing pleasure…

That’s all for this week! If you loved my selections then do yourself a favor and take a deeper dive into Lisa’s work. She’s also got some cool photography.

If you love one of Lisa’s pieces, then add it to cart and checkout. You’ll never regret purchasing art that speaks to your soul. It will bring so much joy to your space while getting you one step closer to a home you love.

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.
